Eco Friendly & Recyclable Cosmetic Pouch Filling

Spouted pouches are a hot topic these days, but they aren’t always recyclable. Despite this, pouches use far less plastic than bottles, are lighter and save space. At Fillcon, we have eco-friendly pouch solutions to help your business leverage this trend in a sustainable way.

WATCH THIS SPACE: Fillcon will soon offer our own spouted pouch filling station for which we will be able to offer fully recyclable PP pouches!

Recyclable, Refillable PP Pouches

As per our sachet materials, spouted pouches are almost identical. Stand-up spouted pouches use less plastic than a bottle (70%ish), and so we think a spouted pouch has its place on the retail shelf.

Some of these pouch materials are classed as ‘non-recyclable’ due to the multi-layer laminate and the spout. These can usually be taken down to the local supermarket where they will be sorted and recycled with other similar materials. Like the “little brother”… the sachet, spouted pouches are available in fully recyclable PP materials.

Anti-Microbial Varnish for Sachet and Pouch Packaging

Fillcon now offer an anti-microbial varnish (PureSafe® with Biomaster Antimicrobial Protection) for either PP or PET/ALU/PE packaging. The varnish is an invisible layer applied to the outer face of the laminate (printed side) that offers 24/7 surface protection against microbes for the lifetime of the product. It is proven to be effective against most types of harmful bacteria including MRSA!

An antimicrobial protection can prevent the growth of microorganisms on a printed surface and effectively protect against bacteria, fungi and moulds. The agent works by releasing silver ions to inhibit bacterial growth, ensuring the printed surface remains hygienic and preventing cross contamination.

The varnish is available in a gloss or matte finish.
